Jay R. Smith Mfg. Co. has introduced a full line of Fluid Controls products, including trap primers, distribution units, trap primer adapters, air gap fittings, dielectric fittings, water hammer arresters, and access doors.
Jay R. Smith Mfg. Co. has been offering select Fluid Controls products, such as trap primers and water hammer arresters, for many years. Today, Smith is pleased to be able to offer a more complete line of these products, featuring the patented Pressure-Drop Trap Primer, the Trap-Defender®.
The Figure No. 2694 Trap-Defender is the perfect pressure-drop trap primer. It activates when the system experiences a drop in pressure of 3 psi or greater, releasing water to maintain a seal in the floor drain’s p-trap and prevent sewer gas odors from escaping. The Trap-Defender is patented (Patents # 9,708,808 and #10,190,306) and has a 3-year warranty. The Trap-Defender has no moving parts and due to its unique free-floating compressible element, it is highly sensitive and automatically self-adjusts to changes in pressure in the water supply line.
Optional distribution units allow up to 4 p-traps to be served with one trap primer. The Smith Fluid Controls® line includes two styles of distribution unit: Cloverleaf-Style and Branch-Style, which accommodate a variety of applications and connection types.
Electronic Trap Primers are another new addition to the Smith Fluid Controls® product line. These trap primers activate electronically, releasing a precise amount of water to the floor drain’s p-trap every 24 hours. Electronic Trap Primers prime up to 36 p-traps, and can be provided as a singular unit or multiport units that are flush-mounted or surface-mounted. All Smith Trap Primers conform with ASSE 1044. Electronic Trap Primers also meet UL 1951 and CSA standards.
