Piston-Type Water Hammer Arrester

Water hammer arresters control the destructive forces, pounding noises, and vibrations which develop in a piping system when a column of non-compressible liquid flowing through a pipe line abruptly stops or changes direction.

Figures 520T have threaded connection. Figures 520SC have sweat connections. All of the 520 Series are fabricated of copper, rated for 60 PSI, and are compliant to ASSE 1010.

INSTALLATION
The piston unit can be installed in new construction or renovation/remodel It can be installed at any angle to accommodate structural limitations, and should be placed as close to the shut-off valve as possible, one on each hot and cold line.The piston unit is seamless, factory charged with nitrogen and is maintenance free and does not require access panels. It cannot be charged in the field. For optimum performace, install the piston unit in a vertical position.
