Each month we sit down with one of our Morris Group International® representatives and get to know them a little better. We’ll find out a bit about their childhood, their pets and hobbies, their first job and whom they admire most.
Mendell Sales LLC
Morris Group International (MGI): Where did you grow up? What was your adolescent experience like?
Brian O’Saile (BO): I grew up in Greenbrier TN. I had very close friends in my neighborhood, we rode bikes, skateboards and played ball (any kind of ball, really).
MGI: What was the first contract you signed? Can you remember how you felt? How you celebrated?
BO: I guess my first contract was on a Mazda pickup truck, it felt great. I lowered it, put some rims on it and ran tires off of it at record pace.
MGI: What’s on your iPod?
BO: A bit of everything. Mainly Jack White, The Killers, Coldplay ETC…
MGI: What was your very first job? Did you learn any valuable lessons or tools that you have brought with you into your current career?
BO: My first job was at Douglas IGA (eventually became Piggly Wiggly). Stocking shelves at the grocery could have never prepared me for this industry.
MGI: When did you become interested in working in the industry? How did you get started in the plumbing industry?
BO: I became interested in the industry when I began working in the industry. I had a cousin that was driving for Mechanical Pipe and Supply. He got me the job. It didn’t take long for me to see that you can make a good living in this industry. Knowledge is key. I have been doing it for 19 years and I have learned a lot. But every day there is something new and that helps in keeping me interested.
MGI: Which of the following chairs best depicts your office chair?
BO: It would look like A but it kinda feels like C.
MGI: Do you have any hobbies? (woodworking, birding, knitting, Herpetoculture)
BO: I enjoy playing disc golf in the summer, tailgating with friends in the fall, and playing with my 5 year old year round.
MGI: Do you have any pets? We want to know all about them if you do.
BO: I have two dogs. One is Barkley; he is about 9 years old. He is a black lab and a very good-natured dog (we love him). The second is Duke. He is almost a year old. He is a Bassett Hound and the jury is still out on him. He is challenging to say the least. We will leave it at that. We also have a two-year-old beta fish named Dori.
MGI: What is the best piece of advice you ever received and who gave it to you?
BO: A long time ago I was told to not say, “I couldn’t do something”. My mom told me this, she said “admitting defeat before I even start is a sure way to never accomplish anything”. I will never forget it.
MGI: If time travel was possible, where would you go and why? (You cannot choose the future because it hasn’t happened yet and there is the possibility you may have to stay put wherever you travel to… So answer wisely.)
BO: I would go back to 1984, the start of my teenage years. They were so much fun. I would only change some of the stupid stuff I did. Everything else I would leave as-is.
MGI: Name three people you would love to have lunch with? (Living, dead, famous, infamous, unknown…)
BO: Well I will have fun with this; otherwise it can get too serious.
1 John F Kennedy
3 Charlie Sheen (winning)
MGI: What are your future goals? (Career, education, travel, etc.)
BO: Well, I hope my future involves the growth of Mendell Sales. We are still an up and coming agency and I would love to see us accomplish our goals. With this goal accomplished it would help my other personal goals become reality.
Brian, we wish you and Mendell Sales much growth, and we’re sure all your goals will indeed become reality.
