The purpose of this frame is to provide a rim for a flat even surface for the tiler
to work to when he is applying the finished wall tile. The end result
is an even finish around the frame, thus eliminating any irregular edges
and uneven surfaces which can otherwise interfere with the installation of the water closet. Available for siphon jet closets only. |

-M40 WATER CLOSET SUPPORT FOR WIDE PIPE CHASE |
When the
dimension
exceeds 7”, the -M40 Wide Pipe Chase Support should be used. This accessory
provides a set of feet directly behind the wall to give extra rigidity where
it’s most needed. An alignment yoke is furnished to ensure proper alignment
of the nipple. For double (back-to-back) installations, specify whether
the -M40 accessory is required on one or both sides. When ordering, the
dimension
must be specified. The -M40 may be used with any vertical or horizontal
fixture support. |
|
SUFFIX -M50 ELEVATED SUPPORT BASE
|
|
For double
(back-to-back) installations which require a single elevated water closet,
the -M50 variation may be used with all regular Smith adjustable or
single compact
supports. Illustrated is a regular double vertical fitting showing siphon
jet closets set at normal height and 3” higher on the opposite side to
accommodate the wheelchair user. The -M50 is particularly adaptable to
hospital or nursing home applications where a single water closet is installed
on the stack at each floor. Not recommended for battery installations.

|
SUFFIX -M54 FACE PLATE WITH SIDE MOUNTED BASE SUPPORT ASSEMBLY |
|
|
|
For most siphon
jet water closets with concealed flush valves, the supply pipe enters the
rear of the water closet above the top of the face plate without interference.
(NOTE: There
is an exception– Crane water closets have a much lower roughing for the
inlet; therefore the face plate must be set behind the supply pipe or
from 4 1/2” to 6 1/2” back of the rough wall.) Concealed flush valve piping in
all cases does not interfere with the vent connection of the fitting.
|
|
| A concealed flush valve will not clear the face plate when used with a blowout water closet support. Therefore 4 1/2” to 6
1/2” is required from back of wall to face plate to permit the installation of the concealed flush valve piping. |
