Testing Procedures
Testing Steps with The Boss Tee:
- Remove existing cleanout plug at face of tee.
- Thread a raised hex head plug (by others) into the internal threading.
- Remove the plug from test port connection at the front of the tee.
- Thread 1/2” NPT nipple with boiler drain valve into the port. When using a pressure gauge, install the water pressure gauge before the boiler drain valve.
- Connect one end of a water hose to the boiler drain valve and the other end to a water supply to fill piping for testing. The boiler drain valve must be in the open position.
- When piping is full of water, shut off the water supply and close the boiler drain valve.
- When testing is complete, disconnect the water hose from the water supply and place in a floor drain or other acceptable drainage point and open boiler drain valve to drain piping.
- When piping is completely drained, reverse steps to install the cleanout plug.
