Rainwater Harvesting Products:
In cooperation with WISY AG and Rainwater Management Solutions (RMS), the leaders in rainwater products technology and consulting, Jay R. Smith Mfg. Co.® is pleased to announce the introduction of the first complete line of rainwater products in the United States.
Rainwater harvesting technology is simple to install, operate, and maintain. It is convenient in the sense that it provides water at the point of consumption and operating costs are negligible. Water collected from the roof catchment is available for use in non-potable applications such as toilets and urinal flushing, laundries, mechanical systems, custodial uses, and for site irrigation. Since rainwater is collected using existing structures, i.e., the roof, rainwater harvesting has few negative environmental impacts compared to other water supply project technologies.

12" Wide Channel Brute Extra Heavy Duty, High Capacity, Polymer Concrete System, Fig. 9828
| It is the only system that is pre-manufactured with 12” of internal width and integral ductile iron rails. The channel in combination with our secured ductile iron slotted grate is rated for 200,000 pound loads. -
Available in two neutral depths and 20 interlocking, 0.6% pre-sloped channels. - The shallowest channel is 13.06” and the deepest channel is 17.81”. -
Closing end caps and horizontal outlet caps provide for a complete drainage system. - Channel sections are provided with a vertical knockout of 6” and 8” outlet discharge. - Strengthening ribs on the channel sides create a stronger and safer system capable of withstanding the considerable loading imposed by the turning action of heavy wheeled vehicles. - Side profiling also provides anchoring to the surrounding concrete to prevent movement due to freeze-thaw cycles. |

Full-Bore Siphonic Roof Drains from Jay R. Smith Mfg. Co.®, Figure Numbers 1605 and 1005:
The 1605 and 1005 Full-Bore Siphonic Roof Drains promote the principle of full-bore flow within the engineered siphonic roof drainage
piping system. These drains use Siphonic action created by a patented internal baffle to have superior volume and velocity performance compared to traditional roof drainage.
Other than the baffle, a siphonic roof drain has the same features as a traditional roof drain including a drain body, flashing ring, dome strainer and fastening hardware.
Go to Resources, Roof Drains, to view and print Siphonic Roof Drain submittals, drawings, images and literature. (To view the Siphonic Roof Drainage Systems Features and Benefits Flyer, click here).

Design Software for Siphonic Roof Systems:
We are please to offer the siphonic design software, SiphoniTec®, developed by Rainwater Management Systems (RMS), our partner in siphonic roof drains. This software greatly aids in the design of siphonic piping systems that will be compatible with Jay R. Smith Mfg. Co.® siphonic roof drains.
SiphoniTec® is an easy to use and is beneficial in roof drain piping system design for large roof applications. It is suitable for all siphonic system project requirements. It was designed by an engineer for engineers. Some of the features include:
(1) Calculation details and imbalance tabs, (2) MS Excel report features,
(3) GUI tree design, and (4) the ability to load and remove multiple projects.

- Grease+Gard® Retrofit Skimmer and Grease Recovery Device, Figure Numbers 8165-8176, 8960 and 8980:
The Grease+Gard®
Retrofit Skimmer and Grease Recovery Device use patent pending technology that automatically removes FOG from the
interceptor before it becomes a problem.
The principals of the system are easily understood. The Grease+Gard® system has a belt and
heater assembly that is controlled by a 24-hour timer. Upon a given schedule the heater warms up the water in the interceptor and the agitator propeller helps to liquefy the FOG to be extracted. The belt assembly picks up the FOG that is skimmed into a trough. From there it flows into a storage reservoir.

submittals, images, drawings and literature.
