Product (PG-08) information is available in two file formats:

upcdata.txt - ASCII data file with tab characters as field separators and a CR/LF at the end of line.

upcdata.xls - MS Excel spreadsheet.

All of the above formats contain the same data fields and data values. Some fields have been defined for future use, but at this time are not populated with usable values.


Product Data Field Definitions:

Product Id - The product ID consists of the Product Code followed by options that are dash(-) separated within parentheses.
Description - This is a product description that includes the descriptions of the selected options.
UPC Code - The UPC Code is a twelve digit value and has a dash (-) after the sixth digit to separate the manufacturer id from the product id. The dash makes this a thirteen character field.
Price Guide - The Price Guide Code identifies which Jay R. Smith Mfg. Co. price guide is reflected in the pricing.
Price - The price is either a list price or a net price depending on the value in the Net field which follows. The price is numeric with an explicit decimal point. If no decimal point is present the number represents a dollar value. All prices are specified in US dollars.
UOM - This is a two character code representing the unit of measure. (Current value is EA for EACH.)
Pack - The pack size specifies the number of product units in a package. All of our products have a pack size of 1 at this time.
Pack UOM - Unit of measure of the pack. (Since all pack sizes are 1, this is EA for EACH.)
TI - The number of pack units that fit on a tier on a pallet. This is a numeric integer field. This field is not populated at this time.
HI - The number of tiers that can be stacked on a pallet. This is a numeric integer field. This field is not populated at this time.
Length - Length of the package. This is a decimal field with an explicit decimal point. If no decimal is present the number shown represents whole inches. All lengths shown are in inches. This field is not populated at this time.
Width - Width of the package. This is a decimal field with an explicit decimal point. If no decimal point is present the number shown represents whole inches. All widths shown are in inches. This field is not populated at this time.
Height - Height of the package. This is a decimal field with an explicit decimal point. If no decimal point is present, the number shown represents whole inches. All heights shown are in inches. This field is not populated at this time.
Weight - Weight of the package. This is a decimal value with an explicit decimal point. If no decimal point is present, the number shown represents whole pounds. All weights are shown as pounds avoirdupois.
Volume - Volume of the package. This is a decimal value with an explicit decimal point. If no decimal point is present, the number shown represents whole cubic inches. All volumes are shown as cubic inches. This field is not populated at this time.
Misc Code - Miscellaneous Code.
